Our irises were beautiful this year. This picture was take a bit late in the season and doesn't capture the beauty of not only the irises but my 2 rose bushes all lined up in a colorful row.

Free flowers

These Sweet Williams were rescued from an abandoned lot in the neighborhood. When I dug them up they were just a small bunch struggling to survive. I have found a number of flowers at old house places. The houses are often gone but the flowers remain still blooming along forgotten paths. These are usually very hardy flowers. Irises and Jonquils are the most frequent flowers I have bought home. They always seem hardier than those store bought varieties. The weak ones perish those left will survive under any condition. Often like the sweet williams , with a little love and attention you will have a beautiful flower.






My wife dug up a start of these spring wild flowers and planted them in her back yard shade garden. This spring we tore down the trellis that was providing the shade are in the process of moving the shade plants in it to the many shady locations in the backyard. These wild flowers have thrived well and have reseeded themselves for 20 years . We hope they will like their new locations and continue to thrive
